A wonderful 19th century colonial Demi-Lune table made in Indonesia. The legs and apron are teak, fluted and carved on all sides meaning it can be used in the middle of a room. The top is figured Kamagong, a species unique to and highly favored by Indonesian carpenters.
The mix of Indonesian materials, controlled by the Dutch at the time, while the style being very British speaks to the variety of influences in 19th century Southwest Asia.
