This very large mid-18th century Italian Rococo giltwood green marble top console having a modern marble top; the frame with pierced Giltwood carvings in high Rococo relief, with very large, carved foliage rocaille and scroll work to the apron, the cabriole legs similarly carved with spurs to the legs, joined at the lower section by a heavily carved rocaille X-Stretcher mounted with a central pierce-carved cartouche scroll. Is in very fine quality. Condition: Excellent condition for age and type, with areas of losses to the gilding as expected with age, with shrinkage cracks to the wood in some areas; losses to the rim of the marble top on the left hand side and right back corner. Provenance: Stated to have been purchased at R. Orselli Antiachita, Florence, Italy, 1964
