19th C. Marble Relief Plaque of a Classical Roman Emperor

An Italian marble circular relief plaque centered by the profile portrait of an ancient Roman emperor in white marble on a red porphyry background within an inlaid black and white lozenge border, surrounded by a guilloche border of green and yellow Sienna marble. The portrait carved with exquisite detail. Late 18th - early 19th century.
